- Fr. Arthur: If student is doing well, they are responsible and have integrity

Remember that the things we do in assessment must be linkable up the hierarchy (eg., to mission, to WASC criteria, etc)

Assessment info from WASC Criteria
- measurement of each student's progress toward the schooowide learner outcoems and academic standards.
- regular evaluation, modification, and improvement of curriculum and instrucitonal approaches,
- allocation of resources
Discussion of the grading system
- 65-100, F-A, 0-4.0 Scale; There are other systems out there
- What are the reasons for choosing a particular scale
- In the handbook, the scale is related to mastery of subject matter
- Effort and Behavior is ranked U, NI, S, C. MOE uses U, S, O. Which one makes sense for us?
- The weights given to different assessment activities (quiz, test, etc). Still make sense now?
- Adding participation as one of the assessment activities.
- Note: In the 60's, homework, classwork, etc., were the norm. Now those are considered participation.
